1. Exclude crown molding and/or baseboard from the height of the wall. This prevents the need for unnecessary wallpaper.

2. Measure the height of the wall on both sides, as the actual height may vary slightly. Use the longest measurement to avoid gaps between the wallpaper and the ceiling.

3. Measure the width of the wall at both the top and bottom, considering that the actual width may have slight variations.

4. Include doors, windows, or any other obstacles within the measured area.
